This Refund Policy governs all purchases made through SongsSmith. SongsSmith provides personalized custom songs that are written, composed, and professionally produced based on the specific details submitted by each customer. Because every song is uniquely created, this policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may or may not be available.
By placing an order with SongsSmith, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Refund Policy.
At SongsSmith, every song is crafted from scratch and tailored exclusively to you. Because each song is a unique, made-to-order creation that cannot be resold or reused, our refund policy reflects the time, talent, and effort invested in each piece.
No General Refunds
Because all songs are custom-created specifically for you, we are unable to offer refunds once production has begun. This is standard practice for bespoke creative services
Standard Cancellation Window: You may cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it, subject to a 35% service and processing fee. After 24 hours, production will have started and cancellation will not be possible.
Express Delivery Orders: If you have purchased the Express Delivery add-on, the 24-hour cancellation window is void the moment our team commences production on your order, which may occur immediately upon order confirmation. By purchasing Express Delivery, you acknowledge that production may begin before the standard 24-hour window has elapsed, and that no cancellation or refund will be available once production has commenced.
What We Guarantee
We stand behind the quality of our work. Every song we deliver is guaranteed to meet the following standards:
- Studio-quality audio recording with no technical defects
- Song length matching the duration you ordered
- Vocals that are on-pitch and musically sound
- Lyrics that accurately reflect your story and include the key details you provided
- Delivery by the date you selected at checkout
Artistic Discretion and Quality Determination
SongsSmith retains sole and final artistic discretion in determining whether a delivered song meets the technical quality guarantees listed above. The guarantees are limited to objective, measurable standards: audio clarity, song length, pitch accuracy, and factual inclusion of submitted story details. They do not extend to subjective elements such as melody, chord progressions, instrumentation, vocal style, lyrical phrasing, emotional tone, or any other matter of creative preference.
Any customer concern that cannot be measured against those objective standards will be treated as a personal taste matter and handled under the Paid Revisions policy. SongsSmith’s determination of whether a concern is technical or subjective in nature shall be final.
Free Revisions
If your delivered song falls short of the objective guarantees listed above, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will correct the issue at no additional charge.
Paid Revisions
Revision requests based on personal taste or style preferences — rather than the objective quality guarantees above — will be treated as change requests and may incur an additional fee depending on the scope of changes required.
Add-On Services — Refund & Revision Rules
SongsSmith offers the following add-on services at checkout. Each has its own refund terms
- Genre Change
Allows you to change the musical genre of your song before production is finalized. Once our team has begun composing in the requested genre, this add-on is non-refundable. Genre change requests submitted after production has started will be treated as a paid revision.
- Duet (Male + Female Voice)
Your song will be performed as a duet featuring both a male and a female voice. Because this requires coordination between two artists and additional production, this add-on is non-refundable once production has begun. If a technical error results in only one voice being present in the final delivery, we will re-deliver the correct duet at no additional charge.
- HD Lyrics Poster
A high-resolution digital poster featuring the lyrics of your song in a stylized design. As a digital deliverable, this add-on is non-refundable once the file has been delivered to you. Free corrections apply only to errors introduced by the SongsSmith team (e.g., a word spelled differently from what was written in your delivered song). Errors or omissions that originate from incorrect, incomplete, or unclear information submitted by the customer at checkout are not eligible for free correction and will be treated as a paid revision request.
- HD Lyrics Video
A high-definition video set to your custom song and featuring animated or styled lyrics on screen. As a digital deliverable, this add-on is non-refundable once the video file has been delivered. If there is a technical defect or an error caused by our team, we will correct and re-deliver it within 7 days at no charge.
- Extra Revision
Entitles you to one (1) additional revision of your song beyond the standard revision terms. Each Extra Revision add-on covers a single round of changes communicated in one message. This add-on is non-refundable once submitted for revision. If you require more than one additional revision, you must purchase an additional Extra Revision add-on per round.
- Express Delivery (48–72 Hours)
Prioritizes your order for delivery within 48 to 72 hours of order confirmation. If SongsSmith fails to deliver your song within the guaranteed express window due to reasons within our control, you will receive a full refund of the Express Delivery fee. The express fee is non-refundable if delivery occurs within the window, or if delays are caused by incomplete or unclear information provided at checkout.
Incorrect Information Provided by Customer
SongsSmith is not responsible for non-delivery or dissatisfaction resulting from incorrect or incomplete information submitted by the customer. This includes incorrect email addresses, incomplete story submissions, or failure to check spam or junk folders.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all submitted information is accurate at the time of ordering. We recommend double-checking your contact details before completing your purchase.
Payment Disputes & Chargebacks
If you are unsatisfied with your order, we strongly encourage you to contact support@dev.songssmith.com before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback with your bank or card provider. Most concerns can be resolved quickly and amicably through direct communication.
Customers who initiate a chargeback for a fully delivered custom song without first contacting our support team may have their dispute contested. SongsSmith will provide proof of completed work, delivery records, and production documentation to the relevant payment processor.
We reserve the right to restrict or refuse future services to customers who engage in repeated or bad-faith payment disputes.
10. Refund Processing Timeframe
Where a refund is approved under this policy, it will be processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or card issuer and are outside SongsSmith’s control once the refund has been issued.
How to Request a Revision or Raise a Concern
For any questions, concerns, revision requests, or refund enquiries, Please contact our support team within 7 days of receiving your song. Include your order number, a description of the issue, and any specific details. We handle every case individually with care and fairness.
