1. Introduction
This Refund Policy governs all purchases made through SongsSmith. SongsSmith provides personalized custom songs that are written, composed, and professionally produced based on the specific details submitted by each customer. Because every song is uniquely created, this policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may or may not be available.
By placing an order with SongsSmith, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Refund Policy.
2. Pre-Production Cancellation & Full Refund
You may cancel your order and receive a full refund if you contact us within 12 hours of placing your order AND before creative production has begun.
To request a cancellation, email support@dev.songssmith.com with your order reference number and subject line “Order Cancellation.” Our team will confirm whether production has started and process your refund accordingly.
Approved refunds will be returned to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your card issuer or bank.
3. No Refunds After Production Has Commenced
Once our songwriters and producers begin work on your custom song, all sales are considered final. Custom songs cannot be resold, reused, or reassigned to another client. Because significant creative labour has been invested, refunds are not available after production has started.
This applies even if the order has not yet been delivered, as long as work has commenced.
4. Revisions as an Alternative to Refunds
While refunds are generally not available after production begins, SongsSmith offers revision opportunities depending on the package purchased:
- Silver: 1 revision
- Gold: 2 revisions
- Platinum: 3 revisions
Revisions cover minor adjustments such as lyric tweaks, vocal refinements, or small changes in tone. They do not include full rewrites, genre changes, or creation of an entirely different song.
5. Non-Delivery Exception
A refund may be considered in limited circumstances where SongsSmith fails to deliver the completed service and no creative work has been initiated. Refund eligibility may also apply where a verified technical failure on our end permanently prevents delivery.
All refund requests under this exception will be reviewed and, if approved, processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method.
6. Creative Interpretation & Subjectivity
Music is an artistic medium. By placing an order, you acknowledge that creative interpretation varies and that the final song may differ from reference examples or expectations. SongsSmith does not guarantee resemblance to specific artists, copyrighted songs, or commercial works.
Subjective dissatisfaction based on creative or stylistic preference does not qualify for a refund. We encourage customers to be as detailed as possible in their brief to help us best capture their vision.
7. Digital Delivery & Fulfilment
All SongsSmith products are delivered digitally via email. Once your custom song has been delivered in digital format (MP3, WAV, lyric video, or related files), the order is considered fulfilled.
Because digital products cannot be returned once accessed or delivered, refunds are not available after delivery, except where a non-delivery exception applies (see Section 5).
8. Incorrect Information Provided by Customer
SongsSmith is not responsible for non-delivery or dissatisfaction resulting from incorrect or incomplete information submitted by the customer. This includes incorrect email addresses, incomplete story submissions, or failure to check spam or junk folders.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all submitted information is accurate at the time of ordering. We recommend double-checking your contact details before completing your purchase.
9. Payment Disputes & Chargebacks
If you are unsatisfied with your order, we strongly encourage you to contact support@dev.songssmith.com before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback with your bank or card provider. Most concerns can be resolved quickly and amicably through direct communication.
Customers who initiate a chargeback for a fully delivered custom song without first contacting our support team may have their dispute contested. SongsSmith will provide proof of completed work, delivery records, and production documentation to the relevant payment processor.
We reserve the right to restrict or refuse future services to customers who engage in repeated or bad-faith payment disputes.
10. Refund Processing Timeframe
Where a refund is approved under this policy, it will be processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or card issuer and are outside SongsSmith’s control once the refund has been issued.
